Mangalitsa's are a heritage pig from Hungary. They are a lard pig, and take longer to finish out.
The meat is excellent, and the lard is melt in your mouth delicious. We have eliminated all vegetable, and seed oil in our diet. We only use lard for deep frying, and skillet cooking. Eliminating veg oil, and using lard started with my wife researching how to reduce or eliminate inflammation. Do your research.
Our boar is blonde and throws blonde pigs. Sow is swallow bellied. Our stock was shipped from different states seeking out the best quality. I only buy quality stock, and strive to breed and keep the same quality. Mangalitsa's can cross with any breed you have to improve meat quality.
