He is affectionate, charming, silly, and loving, His incredible love and devotion is very rewarding to the people who truly care.
We're laid back Christian home with more than enough supplies needed to make your job easier. He needs help with creating and implementing a schedule focused on reaching his goals. Needs assistance with toileting, hygeine, dressing, meal prep, laundry at times, light housekeeping, assistance with arts & crafts, and going out on drives in provided vehicle and activities (like the train in Cedar Park) for day shift(s) and ENCOURAGEMENT AND PRAISE!
Shifts available with current team, who are flexible to change their schedule:
Tues-Sat 7am-3pm (full time)
Tues-Sat 3pm-11pm (full time)
Wed-Sat 11pm-7am (32hrs)
Every other Sunday 7am-5pm
PRN (substitute caregiver)
Any shifts can be cut down to part-time according to your availability
Experience with occasionally challenging nonverbal, disabled adults is highly desired, but not necessary. Willing to train the right person (again, you know who you are!!). Prefer someone that lives within 10 miles of 78660.
Service is paid by Texas Medicaid HCS waiver/CDS program. Pay based upon experience. $17-20/hr to start (3 month trial).
The following tasks/qualities highly desired:
- Trustworthy and reliable
- Good communication skills, and sign language knowledge a plus!
- Maintains self-control and patience in challenging situations
- A coach and teacher in personality; maintaining positive, friendly, encouraging, and fun relationship
- Content with spending time just coloring, playdoh, etc with him occasionally
- Creative with arts and crafts
- Plan goals and create schedule
- Assist with learning new things (self-help skills, communication device, sign language, etc)
- Assistance with special meal plan and prep, assistance with toileting and hygiene activities
- Light cleaning up after Micah's meals, play, etc, and help train him to help. He loves being a helper!
- Must be ready to provide SMILES and ENCOURAGEMENT as he is an absolute doll when he gets that – he eats it up!!
- Enjoy him and enjoy yourself!
