Light colored solid oak grandfather clock with plenty of bells and whistles – and a brand-new mechanical Hermle movement straight from Germany (2024). The oak case is majestic and was hand-crafted in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The height is about 79 inches, the width 25 1/2 inches at the base, and the depth 15 1/4 inches. The bottom sides are glass, as well as the front door. The side tops have removable perforated doors for movement adjustments. The dial diameter is 9 ½ inches with Arabic numerals and has a second hand above the hour/minute hands. The hands are black with serpentine shape. There is a moon-phase indicator located above the dial.
The movement is 8-day (wind once per week), triple chime, and weight-driven on cables. It has a brass lyre pendulum with a large 10 ½ inch bob. There are three brass-shelled weights - one driving the time, one the chime and one the strike. The time also drives the second hand and moon indicator. There is a crank key to wind the cables to pull the weights upward.
There are three chime tunes (St. Michael's, Whittington, and Westminster) or silent that can be selected. The Westminster chime will start with 4 notes on the quarter, then 8 on the 2nd quarter, then 12 on the 3rd quarter and 16 on the hour. The other two tunes have twice any many notes each quarter.
Fully functional with a new movement (like buying a new clock for 25-33% of new)!!
