Red & White Greenery is a safety-first company. Mechanic Assistant will assist the Shop Mechanic with light mechanic duties, perform equipment inspections to ensure timely equipment and vehicle maintenance for safe operation, and adhere to safe work practices and use of all required PPE. Tasks include but are not limited to:
Routine Maintenance: Changing oil and filters, checking/topping off fluid levels, rotating tires, and replacing batteries or wiper blades.
Brake Services: Inspecting brake pads and rotors, replacing worn components, and flushing brake fluid.
Diagnostics: Using computerized scanners to read trouble codes, test sensors, and pinpoint engine or electrical faults.
Component Replacement: Swapping out broken or worn parts like spark plugs, belts, alternators, and bulbs.
Equipment Transport: Transporting equipment to job locations
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
· 2 to 3 years’ experience of construction equipment and vehicle maintenance
· Valid TEXAS driver’s license with CLEAN DRIVING RECORD
· Demonstrated safe experience driving Truck and Gooseneck trailer, and securing, onloading, hauling, and offloading construction equipment
· Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test
· Commitment to safe machinery operation and utilization of all required PPE
· Ability to work in varied weather conditions
· Ability to take direction & coaching, work independently and as part of a team
· Encourage a positive team atmosphere and willingness to help others
