I'm a guitarist/musician based in the North Campus area of Austin, but can come to you if you're in Austin. I can teach you how to play both rhythm and lead, how to understand introductory music theory and how to read music. I can teach acoustic, either flatpicked or fingerstyle, electric, or classical. We can work out what lessons will look like based on your goals and discuss whether you want to focus more on broad fundamentals or getting right into playing songs, or a little of both. I started seriously taking classical guitar lessons in college at Duke's music department and have continued here in Austin. I've studied under some award-winning guitarists in the classical space. Though I now focus on bluegrass and classical, I have experience across genres, including pop, blues, rock, country lead, and jazz. Whatever it is you want to play, I'm confident we can figure it out together. I mostly am looking to teach more beginner-geared lessons, but if you come in with some experience, I'm happy to talk dig into more technical topics, or to just play outside of the lesson context. My standard rate is $40/hour, but we can talk about bundling lessons for a discount if you enjoy your first lesson and want to continue learning. Email me for availability.
