Better Business Staffing is currently seeking dependable, hardworking, and motivated Wood Worker to join a fast-paced wood shop and supply company in Austin, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, have experience with power tools, understand measurements, and take pride in producing quality work in a team-oriented environment.
We are looking for individuals with strong work ethics, good common sense, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a deadline-driven production environment.
Must be energetic, dependable, and motivated with a strong work ethic and a sense of urgency throughout the workday. Candidates should demonstrate initiative, good common sense, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Hands-on experience working with power tools in a professional manufacturing environment, trade school, personal workshop, or home shop setting is highly preferred. Individuals who take pride in quality craftsmanship, enjoy working with their hands, and have practical shop experience are encouraged to apply.

Schedule:
• Monday through Thursday
• 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM
o Overtime may be required based on production needs.
o The team may decide to Start one hour earlier or work additional hours on Fridays as needed. This is the exception.
Pay Rate:
$18.00 per hour
Overtime may apply
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work with wood materials and production equipment in a warehouse and wood shop environment.
• Accurately measure materials to within 1/16 of an inch.
• Operate power tools and production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with cutting, assembling, staging, and preparing materials for production.
• Maintain production quality and meet deadlines.
• Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members.
• Perform additional production and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of woodworking or related production experience required.
• Experience in using power tools is required.
• Experience working with wood is preferred.
• Must be able to measure accurately to within 1/16 of an inch.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Must demonstrate good common sense and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality required.
• Ability to stand on your feet throughout the workday.
• Ability to follow instructions and always work safely.
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to accurately measure materials
• Ability to lift, move, and organize materials safely
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Personal hands-on woodworking or shop experience accepted and valued
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Safety & Attire Requirements:
• Steel-toe boots are always required.
• Warehouse attire is required.
• Employees must follow all warehouse and safety guidelines while on-site.
*****Must be able to take a measuring test on the interview.
Physical Requirements:
• Standing for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, lifting, walking, and carrying materials.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work in warehouse and wood shop environments.
