Schedule
2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Overtime may be scheduled as business needs require.
A Day in the Life of a Letter Mold Machine Operator
Reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Review work orders to ensure complete understanding of job requirements and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
• Program production layouts and utilize software to determine cutting paths, speeds, passes, tooling sizes, and routing paths.
• Operate and utilize shop equipment including grinders, saws, hand tools, and related machinery.
• Build, repair, and maintain wooden molds while minimizing disruptions to the production process.
• Develop mold components and ensure proper fit and finish without visible seams.
• Inspect work throughout the manufacturing process and upon completion to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Perform routine machine setup, operator maintenance, and equipment adjustments.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality standards.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable using computers, databases, and internet-based file transfer systems.
• Ability to learn and utilize CAD/CAM and graphics software.
• Experience working with shop tools, machinery, and manufacturing equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production specifications.
Work Environment
• Clean, professional, and well-maintained manufacturing facility.
• Bright production environment.
• Exposure to heat around operating equipment.
• Standing, walking, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion may be required throughout the shift. Once job descriptions are read and understood, we will send you the details for the variable and physical needs required as far as standing, etc.
