This guitar is the first run of MIJ Fender 12 strings that were made from about 1987-1993 and features an exact duplication of one of the last things that Leo made before selling the company to CBS in 1965: a 12 string bridge allowing for each string to be intonated.
This guitar has been run through my Plek machine, along with the strings flipped alla Rickenbacker with a bone nut with the sides having finish added/blended in, and a push-push added as the second tone knob to engage the bridge and neck pickups with in bridge position (pos.1), which adds the sparkle to the bass, my favorite setting for Strats.
The flipping of the strings adds in a little more fundamental, and the spacing of the strings are a little wider than most 12 strings.
I bought this guitar a few years back from a seller in England without a case, and to my surprise when I opened the triangular box, they hadn't detuned it and only 2 strings needed slight adjusting (all the way to Texas!). Needless to say, this guitar likes to stay in tune, and is VERY light and resonant.
I also added a WD custom pickguard, (after buying two others that are for sale in my Reverb shop- Straight Frets- that you might like better) and a hardshell case. You won't be sorry with this one.
