Case is not original to the guitar, but definitely from the 1940s / 1950s. The guitar however is a 1928 Gibson l4. Made in Kalamazoo michigan.
Pickguard is a repro. Bridge is original. Tailpiece is original. Tuners are original. Body joins at the 11th and a half fret. So not quite a 12 fretter.
Has a gorgeous robust yet delicate sound. I love this guitar, and you will too. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
There was a repair done on the lower bound where the guitar rests against the players lap. I have done my best to photograph it. It appears that there was an additional strip of maple added to the interior of the instrument on the side which corresponds where the crack is.
I can only speculate, either whoever did this repair was incredibly good at what they did, or it must have been done by Gibson Kalamazoo themselves.
I reached out to Gibson to inquire if they had any records of warranty/repair, and they replied that they did not keep those kinds of records. But, they did marvel and how beautiful and well preserved this L4 is.
