Beautiful Gretsch G5422-12 electric 12-string. And who doesn't need an electric 12-string? This was purchased for our studio and we cut 4-5 songs with her. The recording equipment absolutely loved her,..she sounds like a choir!
She has very little play,..in very near mint condition.
After I purchased it, I noticed the sound just wasn't quite there. I called my luthier and he suggested I change the tailpiece to a Gibson trapeze. So I did and wow, what a difference! The big chunk of metal that Gretsch usually uses for a tailpiece (original included) really hurts (absorbs) the tone, at least it did in this guitar.
Also, this Gretsch has classic chrome appointments vs. the cheesy gold that's usually found on these instruments. Also, the pick-guard was changed to something less obnoxious-lookin' than the original. (Original pick-guard included).
