Blueridge BR-260 Prewar Series. 2022 year model that I purchased new. High grade Adirondack top, E.I Rosewood back and sides, no fretwear, ebony 1-3/4" fret board at the bone nut, bone saddle, ebony bridge and pins. Maple bridge-plate. Comfortable even C mahogany neck with vintage fretboard inlays. This guitar has a perfect neck set, low action with plenty of saddle extension. Great guitar with nice crisp woody tone and in mint condition. These have been re-voiced over the Blueridges of the early 2000's with a more open but focused sound. They come installed with light gauge 12-53 strings and believe these are the original strings still on. They don't need to be changed as often as say my Martins which are built more for optimum tone with well played in medium gauge, so with lights, not optimum as long. After getting this I sold my older Brazilian Rosewood 260 Blueridge, which was a fine sounding guitar I had 15 yrs but side by side I liked this better. Since having ordered and now received a custom built dreadnought I'm trying to trim several guitars. New condition, both guitar and case. A quality instrument, near comparable specs with a HD-28 Custom Shop Adirondack at btwn 1/4 and 1/3 the price.
Blueridge's Description
Blueridge BR-260 Prewar Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar
The Blueridge BR-260 gives you a taste of golden-era guitar tone and aesthetics without the vintage price tag. Handcrafted with premium tonewoods like solid Adirondack spruce and Indian rosewood, this dreadnought acoustic produces a bold, balanced sound with shimmering highs and a focused low end. The scalloped X-bracing opens up the responsive spruce top, projecting your playing to the back of the room. You'll appreciate the fast, slim mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard, which provide a comfortable playing experience. Visually, the herringbone marquetry rosette, tortoiseshell pickguard and snowflake position markers recall the elegance of prewar guitars. For discerning players seeking an affordable, professional-grade acoustic with vintage-inspired looks and sound, the Blueridge BR-260 delivers.
Premium, resonant tonewoods create a dynamic acoustic voice
The BR-260's solid Adirondack spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides were hand-selected for their tonal qualities. Adirondack spruce, prized for its strength and responsiveness, gives this dreadnought a balanced tone with shimmering highs and focused lows. The rosewood body enhances bass response and projection. Together, these premium tonewoods produce a dynamic range suited to any playing style.
Scalloped X-bracing opens up the responsive soundboard
The BR-260's spruce top is braced in the scalloped X pattern preferred by prewar guitar makers. Scalloped bracing carves away wood from the braces to allow the top to vibrate more freely, resulting in a more open, resonant sound with rich overtones. You'll hear the difference in the guitar's clear, ringing tone and sustain. The scalloped X-bracing gives this Blueridge acoustic a voice inspired by the golden era of guitar craftsmanship.
Fast, comfortable neck invites intricate playing
The mahogany neck has a slim profile that feels fast and familiar in your hands. The ebony fingerboard is smooth and durable, ideal for complex chords and melodies. Together with the 1 3/4" nut width, the neck design makes intricate playing feel effortless. Whether you prefer delicate travis picking or full, ringing strums, the BR-260's neck gives you the control and comfort to make the guitar an extension of your musical imagination.
Vintage-inspired aesthetics recall guitar's golden age
With its herringbone rosette, tortoiseshell pickguard and snowflake position markers, the BR-260 has the vintage-inspired looks to match its tone. These ornate yet understated appointments were hallmarks of prewar acoustic guitars from makers like Martin and Gibson. Paired with the guitar's polished gloss finish, they give the BR-260 a sense of craft and history that inspires you to play and create. For players seeking a professional acoustic with the style and soul of a vintage instrument, the BR-260 delivers.
