Yeah, every other add is looking for or is an experienced bass player that can play any genre, learns fast, etc. Well, how did they get to be so experienced? They weren’t born that way. Anyway, I have the basics. I can play the Blues, a little Jazz, read a chord chart, do a little slap, etc. I was in a band about 8 years ago before moving to Texas. So, you know, we played once a week; at beginning of week the band leader would change up a few tunes; and I would spend the week learning them. About 2 hours before the gig, we would work on arrangement for the new tunes, agree on set list, take a break, and hit the stage. I am making the point of being willing to put in the work. For demographics, know that I am retired, but not looking to tour the world; married, so can’t be gigging every night and every weekend; and, have my own gear (J-Bass, P-Bass, combo amplifier, etc.). If I haven’t lost you, then to build my chops I am currently working on learning some Jazz standards that are Sugar | Stanley Turentine | C; →

- Lady Bird | Tadd Dameron

….yes, you can see my Jazz study but know my real interest is R&B, Funk, popular covers, etc. Hit me back in interested.
