A-Plus Air Conditioning & Home Solutions, a locally owned and family-run business serving Austin since 1977, is looking for an experienced Office Administrator for our Home Repair & Remodel department.
This is not a generic data-entry or medical office role. We are looking for someone who has supported construction, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other home-service field crews and understands how jobs move from call to completion.
Position Overview
You will be the office “hub” for our Home Repair & Remodel team—supporting customers, technicians, and subcontractors while keeping schedules, paperwork, and communication organized and accurate.
You’ll help make sure jobs stay on track from the first call to the final follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
• Answer and route incoming calls with a professional, friendly attitude
• Schedule and coordinate handyman, remodel, and repair appointments
• Dispatch and support field crews; adjust schedules as jobs change
• Communicate clearly with customers, technicians, and subcontractors
• Create and manage job files, estimates, invoices, and project notes
• Confirm upcoming appointments and consultations
• Perform follow-up calls on completed jobs and open estimates
• Assist with permits, materials coordination, and vendor communication as needed
• Support other office departments as part of a small, collaborative team
In our small office, everyone wears multiple hats. You’ll be involved in many parts of the process, not just one narrow task.
Who We’re Looking For
Required:
• 1+ year experience in an office role supporting construction, home services, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, remodeling, or similar trades
• Strong customer service and phone communication skills
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment with frequent schedule changes
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow through on open items
• Confident using computers; able to learn new software (we’ll train on our systems)
Nice to Have (Preferred):
• Experience with job scheduling/dispatch software or CRM
• Familiarity with basic construction / home repair terminology
• Experience reading or handling estimates, work orders, or invoices in a trades environment
If your background is primarily medical office only or data-entry only, this role will not be a good fit.
Schedule & Location
• Full-time, in-person
• Monday–Friday
• Rotating Saturday morning shift once per month
• Must reliably commute to Austin, TX 78757

• $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, depending on experience
