Self-contained, computerized go-to telescope that takes amazing photos of deep sky objects, the moon and sun. I bought it new for $2,999. It retails today at $2,799 and the sun filter is $249 extra. It makes great photographs of deep-sky objects (nebulae, star clusters, comets, double stars, etc.) that are all catalogued and available with the touch of a button. I have created decent photographs of Jupiter, but it's not really made for planets. It connects to your phone, tablet or other device via its own wi-fi network. You choose the object you want to photograph from a list of "tonight's best" (or anything else in its 40,000-object memory) and it slews itself to that object. Then it begins to take a stream of photo frames over whatever time you choose (seconds, minutes, hours, etc.), combines and refines the best frames and processes them with the on-board computer. The result is amazing, finished pictures you can save, print or send to anyone as a text or email attachment. You can also add up to 10 wi-fi devices so friends, family (etc.) can watch the photography and processing with you in real time. It is very easy to use even for a beginner. I love it, but I got a bigger, more expensive telescope and separate camera system that does the same thing. My teenage grandson loves to use it and send cool pictures to his science-oriented friends while he is using it. Good videos at the Unistellar website. I don't want to pack it up and send it. However, I will meet you if in the Austin area. I must have a cashier's check or money order, not checks or credit cards.
