Introduction/Cover Letter:

Greetings,

My name is Nicolas, and I'm a 2016 undergrad of California's Sonoma State University. Prior to moving to Rohnert Park, I lived and worked in Los Angeles as an accounting assistant for Wolman Wealth Management during Summers and Winters for 4 years, typically between Spring and Fall semesters.

Upon graduating from Sonoma State University, I moved to San Francisco and worked remotely part-time as an assistant bookkeeper for Out of the Blue Entertainment, a company involved in the film industry that was previously located in Culver City, while studying to acquire all the semester units I needed for the CPA exam. Once I parted ways with Out of the Blue, I then began working for Moogsoft as a temp role for about 2 months. After Moogsoft, I have been on the job search ever since.

During my search, I decided to move to Austin. I realized that, with the escalating prices of San Francisco, and very much desiring my own apartment, it was going to be difficult trying to stay in California. I began looking into other states and cities, and eventually discovered many appealing factors about Austin; Austin has a growing economy with comparatively low rent and a booming tech industry. The weather is nice for the most part, and of course by virtue of being in Texas it also has its share of beef brisket and breakfast tacos (I'm just kidding...sort of, I love beef brisket and breakfast tacos). Moving here was a no brainer!

I'm open to both audit and tax positions, bookkeeping positions, basically anything accounting related or a combination of all the aforementioned.

I would be interesting in working for CPA firms, various tech start ups, and other financial services companies. I could also be open to other companies depending on the brand, work environment, responsibilities, benefits, etcetera.

There are many things I have not done before in accounting; I have mostly entry-level accounting experience under my belt as well as a conceptual understanding of various accounting topics; I have not partaken in bigger responsibilities that a staff accountant might encounter. However I am very confident that I can learn quickly and be of extreme benefit to any business I work for.

I am very good with computers and their software; I am very quick to adapt to just about any accounting software after a week. I have experience using NetSuite, QuickBooks, Quicken, Expensify, Mineral Tree, and TurboTax, among some others.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me an e-mail.

-Nick
