Job Summary and QualificionsThe Nuclear Medicine Technologist produces images in accordance with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificion Board (NMTCB) standards. Furthermore, the technologist will perform within the guidelines set by the Bureau of Radiion Control, Hospital Policies and Procedures Manual and the Radioactive Merials License. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is accountable to the Radiion Safety Officer for ensuring all regulions are in compliance in the Department. Provides services using radioisotopes to assist in the diagnosis or trement of disease. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist demonstres knowledge of the human structure and functions, pient care, positioning, principles of nuclear medicine, radiion protection and specialized techniques. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary of medical ethics.

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is a 460+ bed, multi-specialty, acute care hospital. It provides advanced women’s health services, including mernity and newborn care with Level I, II, and III neonal intensive care units (NICUs) the nearby St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas. The hospital also offers minimally invasive gynecological surgery and comprehensive breast imaging through Solis Mammography, which is loced on-site. Other services include a 24-hour emergency department, pediric emergency care, and intensive care St. David’s Children’s Hospital. The hospital also feures the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery, bariric (weight loss) surgery, a Heart and Vascular Center, neurology and neurosurgery, a kidney transplant program, a Level IV Epilepsy Center, as well as inpient and outpient surgery and acute rehabilition services for both inpients and outpients.
St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, loced St. David's North Austin Medical Center, is recognized by the Ste of Texas as a Level IV Mernal Facility. This means it provides the highest level of care for pregnant and postpartum pients, especially those with serious or complex medical, surgical, or pregnancy-reled conditions, including those high risk for mernal morbidity or mortality. The center includes a 95+ bed Level III Neonal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 30+ prive rooms, 10+ rooms for very small babies, and 10+ beds for babies needing neurological care. It also has 35+ labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, including Central Texas’ first low-intervention birthing suites with tubs. There are 95+ postpartum beds, 20+ antepartum beds, and Cesarean section surgical suites. The facility offers 24/7 neonology coverage, OB/GYN hospitalists, mernal-fetal medicine specialists, laction consultants, and a midwifery program. It is part of the Nional Institute of Child Health and Human Development Mernal-Fetal Medicine Units Network and TexasAIM, and it also provides a high-risk pregnancy navigion and support program.
St. David's Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the first Level 4 Epilepsy Center in Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpient unit, and a pediric intensive care unit (PICU) for pients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediric emergency physicians, pediric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. It also includes certified child-life specialists who help kids feel more comfortable during their hospital stay. St. David’s Children’s Hospital offers many pediric services, such as pediric surgery, pediric radiology (including imaging and interventional procedures), and pediric anesthesia for surgical support. It also has a wide range of pediric specialists available for consultion and trement, including general surgery, ENT (ear, nose, and thro), craniofacial and plastic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, urology, and cardiology, among others.
