Handyman seeking house/room rental in South Austin Area (Austin (i35 & Oltorf))

I'm interested in buying a house within a few years so saving money is more important than high class comfort. Looking to pay $450-900 all expenses included / Would be fine living with another person or potentially two if it's a good situation. Have some sort of climate controlled place for my piano and guitar projects yields huge bonus points as I'm thinking i'll have to pay a monthly storage locker fee. would rather that go to wherever i live.
Need a place by november 1st. Open to work/rent trade for a place that needs some updating though hourly rate will have to be somewhat close to what i make on the regular. i have a place lined up if i want it but I feel it would be temporary so would rather find a spot that i could be content in for a good while.
I am single, straight, no kids or pets. I own two cars; a chevy van and a mini cooper.
No police record of any sort, non-smoker, good credit, zero debt, many varying income streams, no drug problems, or mental illness.
I have been a full time musician for 20+ years but over the last few years I have been deriving more and more of my income from general handyman services like property management, mechanic work and guitar/amp repair. Completely self-employed though I occasionally contract with other local businesses. I have current tax returns to show solid income. Credit is in great standing and i have zero debt.
Near William Cannon and South Congress I have a cool wood-working shop where i spend a ton of time and would love to find a place within 5 miles of this area. The less distance to here the better
Just looking for a long term spot where I can sleep and cook. It would also go a long ways if there's room enough for a piano and a private music nook where i could work on songs without being heard.
into the fold i could bring an awesome and comfortable L-shape couch that's like new and I also have a nice stackable washer and dryer set. I have some other furniture if needed to fill a place out.
