About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Bench Hardware Technician to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining desktop computers, laptops, peripherals, and related hardware. You will ensure that all equipment is running optimally and support end users with hardware-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop hardware issues, including motherboards, RAM, storage devices, power supplies, and peripherals.
• Perform system upgrades, component replacements, and hardware installation.
• Image, deploy, and configure workstations according to company standards.
• Troubleshoot issues related to monitors, keyboards, printers, docking stations, and other peripherals.
• Maintain inventory of hardware components, replacement parts, and tools.
• Document repairs, service requests, and device configurations using ticketing systems.
• Assist with device lifecycle management, including procurement, refresh cycles, and e-waste processes.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to end users.
• Collaborate with IT team members on root-cause analysis and system improvements.
• Follow company security, safety, and compliance protocols.

Qualifications
Required:
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in desktop or hardware support.
• Strong knowledge of PC hardware components and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11). Experience with Windows XP and 7 would be a plus.
• Ability to diagnose hardware failures quickly and accurately.
• Familiarity with imaging tools (e.g., MDT, SCCM, Clonezilla, Acronis, Macrium reflect, Ghostboot)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move equipment (up to ~40 lbs/18 kg).
Preferred:
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA ITF+, or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience supporting mobile devices (iOS/Android).
• Knowledge of asset management systems and ticketing tools (RepairShopr)
