of Black Bear Forge obtained one of these bruisers in his shop. (watch on u-tube) . These anvils have a great reputation throughout the blacksmith community. I have owned some of the finest anvil known to man, several Ernst Refflinghaus .....a 660 north German pattern no.9 and a 279lb South German #58. Now that prices for a 460lb brings $4950 plus shipping is out of reach and also I believe they are winding down production. In view of I was looking at all anvils being produced and I came upon Black Bear Forge video and checked into his new 460lb Fontanini anvil he installed in his shop. After watching what he said about it and how excited he was ,I contacted Steve Fontanini and learned all about the anvil and what kind of fabulous craftsmanship he wrought on his anvil. What a master of his craft, indeed. After I received mine, what can I say but it truly is in the top of the finest made. And for what it cost me $3200 was a steal. I might add a looker! I have parted with my Refflinhaus and I must now with my Fontanini. I will accept cash or 1 gold eagle only. I will eat the shipping I paid not if I have to ship.
