Schedule: Monday – Friday 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse and customer service operations at a construction materials facility in South Austin. This position involves operating a sit‑down forklift, handling palletized materials, performing standard warehouse duties, and assisting customers with order fulfillment while following all client and OSHA safety standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a sit‑down / standard warehouse forklift
- Load, unload, move, stage, and store construction materials, primarily on pallets
- Perform order picking and material staging based on customer tickets and work orders
- Assist with inventory control, including:
- Counting and verifying materials
- Maintaining organized and accurate inventory locations
- Assist customers by:
- Checking tickets
- Reviewing materials and quantities prior to release
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all client policies, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediately
- Perform additional warehouse tasks as assigned by supervision
Qualifications:
- Forklift certification preferred but not required
- Previous forklift or warehouse experience required
- Background check completed case by case
- Must have reliable transportation
- Bilingual preferred, not required
- English‑only or Spanish‑only speakers are welcome
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry 50 lbs or more
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and climb on/off equipment as needed
- Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, including exposure to:
- Dust
- Noise
- Varying temperatures
- Must be able to safely operate equipment while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, steel‑toe boots, and/or high‑visibility apparel
Safety & Compliance:
- Compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and client safety requirements is mandatory
- Participation in safety orientations, training, and jobsite briefings as required
- Zero tolerance for unsafe acts or violations of safety procedures
