The Lead Small Fleet Mechanic performs maintenance tasks for company assets. This position also assists maintenance staff with overhauling minor components and installing replacements; with electrical, hydraulic, and computer diagnostics; and with scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance. In the absence of the shop supervisor, the Lead Small Fleet Mechanic assigns tasks and oversees work in the shop.
- At least five years’ experience in automotive repair
- At least three years’ experience in automotive diesel repairs
- Written and verbal communication skills in English
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to explain troubleshooting procedure for hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components
- Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
- Ability to pay attention to detail and remain alert to ensure safety
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate with co-workers
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
- Basic proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of products – i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook
- College or technical school-level coursework in automotive maintenance
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Record of safe driving for the last three years
