The Lead Technician performs maintenance tasks for company assets. They will assist maintenance staff with overhauling minor components and installing replacements, using electrical, hydraulic and computer diagnostics. They will lead both scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance. This position acts in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the shop supervisor.
At least 3 or more years of diesel experience
At least 1 year of experience in the waste industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Effective time management skills
Ability to explain troubleshooting procedure for hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
Ability to pay attention to detail and remain alert to ensure safety
Ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate with co-workers
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
High school diploma or its equivalent
Class B commercial driver’s license
Safe driving for the last five years
Valid Class C driver’s license
Record of safe driving for the last three years
Completion of 3 of the following
DOT Inspectors License
ASE Certification in 2 exams T1-T8 (Additional completions count toward additional certification requirements)
Mack Online Training Path, Technician Level A
Meritor Bullpen AND Stemco Curriculum
Allison, McNeilus, Cummins, Mack or Paccar Certification (Additional completions count toward additional certification requirements)
