The Paint Shop Supervisor directs the work of painters and assists with managing the painting operations and managing on- and off-site painting work orders in accordance with department procedures. This position ensures work areas are kept clean, enforces safety policies and assists other Container Department personnel when required.
High school diploma or equivalent
At least five years of maintenance painting experience outside of the company or two years of maintenance painting experience with the company and demonstrated leadership skills
Must possess required tools
Must pass a pulmonary function and respirator fit test
Must have excellent verbal communication skills in English
Knowledge of painting technologies, metal integrity
Knowledge of prep surfaces, environmental rules and ability to read a Material Safety Data Sheet
Knowledge of shop equipment i.e. sprays guns, pumps, air compressors, paint cleaning supplies
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite – e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook
Paint and body certifications
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
Safe driving record for the last five years
Graduate from a technical school with painting certifications
Valid Class C driver’s license
Safe driving record for the past three years
