The Diesel Fleet Mechanic III performs maintenance tasks for company assets and assists maintenance staff with overhauling minor components and installing replacements, with electrical, hydraulic and computer diagnostics and with scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance. This position also responds to service and road calls.
- At least three years of experience in maintenance of diesel fleet vehicles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to explain troubleshooting procedure for hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components
- Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
- Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate document daily work and progress, track procurements and repair status
- Ability to pay attention to detail and remain alert to ensure safety
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate with co-workers
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Class B commercial driver’s license
- Safe driving for the last five years
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Record of safe driving for the last three years
- Completion of 3 of the following
DOT Inspectors License
ASE Certification in 2 exams T1-T8 (Additional completions count toward additional certification requirements)
Mack Online Training Path, Technician Level A
Meritor Bullpen AND Stemco Curriculum
Allison, McNeilus, Cummins, Mack or Paccar Certification (Additional completions count toward additional certification requirements)
