Model A Ford Pickup Bed Trailer, Simple, Solid, Reliable - $1,950 (Leander)

This is my Model A pickup bed trailer built on a Model A frame (bed year is unknown, it’s Model A 1928-31 era). I tow it regularly and it tows straight and behaves, which is not something you can say about every homemade trailer ever built. A big reason is I kept the Model A rear axle and the Model A trailing arms/radius rods in the stock location, so the geometry is correct. It’s been a really good trailer, I just hardly use it anymore and it’s taking up space. It’s also been stored indoors since I built it.

It works great exactly as it sits, but there’s also plenty you can do to make it your own (paint, details, whatever your brain comes up with at 2am). Also worth mentioning, it has the original Ford script tailgate and it’s in great shape. Those tailgates alone are not cheap, new reproductions are around $350 and used originals commonly bring a couple hundred bucks, so it’s a nice piece to already have on the trailer.

Details / Specs:

• Condition: Solid, dependable trailer, stored indoors, tows well. Bed is nearly 100 years old so it’s not cosmetically perfect, but there is no rust-through on the bed or frame
• Includes: Trailer as shown, locking tongue box with keys, tow lights and wiring so you can tow it home, brand new matching stainless hubcap (one is currently missing), shackle bushing kit (new bushings included), and the original 1931 plate
• Dimensions / Fitment / Model info: Model A pickup bed on Model A frame (1928-31 era). If you need exact bed dimensions or tongue-to-tail length, ask and I’ll provide them
• Wheels / Tires: 21-inch 1928/1929 Model A wheels, freshly powder coated and in excellent shape, tires are in pretty good shape
• Useful Info: New coupler accepts a 2-inch ball, modern adjustable trailer jack up front, safety chain present. No permanent lights installed, I’ve been using tow lights for years and they work great, they are included, standard 4-flat connector with plenty of wire length. No title, but I will provide a bill of sale
