My partner and I are looking for a piece of land in the Bastrop/Austin area where we can establish a small, sustainable farm and homestead. After months of searching for a home with acreage and no HOA, we’re pivoting toward raw or lightly improved land, ideally with owner financing, where we can thoughtfully build something from the ground up.
We both work full-time and locally. I work in comparative medicine, and my partner serves in the National Guard. We are financially stable, responsible, and able to comfortably manage monthly payments up to $1,600. Our intention is to place a tiny house and focus on small-scale agriculture, not development, resale, or subdivision. we’re looking for a place to stay, work, and care for the land.
I have several years of hands on experience raising poultry and dairy goats and plan to focus on breeding and maintaining heritage and rare-breed poultry, including turkeys, chickens, quail, and pigeons. i already have the livestock, coops, and equipment. i just need the land!
Ideally, the property would have:
1–10 acres
Access to electricity and water (or nearby)
Some tree cover
Outside of a floodplain
If you’re a landowner who might consider owner financing or a direct agreement, we’d love to connect. We’re happy to answer questions, share references, or discuss our plans in more detail. We’re happy to work directly with a landowner who values their property and wants to see it used intentionally rather than sold to a developer.
