The problem with the SEO-industry is that too many people are trying to use short hacks that end up having long-term consequences.
People looking for "get rich quick" or "hot hacks" are usually the people who are also incredibly impulsive in everything else that they do. They are the people who are doing something completely new every 7-12 months.
I know because I have been that person.
Fortunately, I discovered early on that I was good at article writing and that translated into something marketable for business owners because I figured SEO out in the early days of the internet.
When I went to work for Google, I got to peek under the hood, so to speak, and this accelerated the results I was getting for clients even further.
But, while I've always been pretty good at SEO, it hasn't been until the last few years where I really started to think of it more as science and less as creative writing.
SEO can't just be noodles against the wall; writing for the sake of writing and hoping something sticks.
There are deliberate actions that must be taken and a specific checklist of hundreds of items one must properly work through in tandem or the plane never gets off the ground.
Many people say that SEO is dead, that you should look for easier marketing methods.
