compensation: $300 for a 60k word book

Hi there -

I am looking for professional, detail-orientated copy editors for immediate hire to punch writing in the sci-fi and urban fantasy genres.

We have a number of books that need someone who wants to work with us on an ongoing basis to make sure that inconsistencies in story and style are eliminated.

Rather than looking for someone to do a one-off job, we really need someone who wants to work more closely with us on a series of books. This will required reading the first book of a series, and using subsequent ones for references, and then tweaking the new books so that the characters are consistent throughout the series.

Are you able to improve a manuscript quickly and effectively?

Can you add punch and pizazz enough to keep the reader turning the page?

If you're good at spotting inconsistencies, and correcting them quickly and easily, this may well be the job for you.

You need to be able to turn a book around in less than 5 days. (The book will be proofed afterwards too, so you're only looking to brighten the text and make it more compelling).

Commission - $300 for a 60k book.

We have multiple series and multiple books per series in production. For those who are looking to do more than one series, and for the right fit, we have the option of putting you on payroll with insurance benefits.

Ultimately we're looking for that one in a million person who can add that punch that SELLS the book...

If this is you, please answer the following questions in your reply email, and title it "Skilled Editor Interested in Punching Role". Thanks!

Q. Can you punch and turn a book around in 5 days?

Q. What experience do you have that is relevant to this role?

Q. Can you commit to doing a series at least medium term? (Or at least 6 months? One book a month?)
