The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), an equal opportunity employer, is currently seeking a Legal Writer who can translate personal knowledge, practical experience, and the results of research into high-quality anti-fraud training materials. As such, qualified candidates will have:

-A background in law, compliance, or a related field
-Top-notch writing skills and an appreciation for the importance of well-organized content; proper grammar; and clear, succinct sentence construction
-Excellent research and information-gathering abilities

The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of legal issues and best practices pertaining to the prevention, detection, and/or investigation of white-collar crime.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Creates and updates content on a variety of anti-fraud and legal topics for ACFE live training events, self-study courses, professional manuals, and other publications

-Assists in developing practice questions and other preparation materials to support studying for the CFE Exam

-Collaborates with outside subject matter experts and other internal staff members, as necessary, to develop training content

-Reviews outside news sources and resources for new standards, laws, regulations, or other information related to fraud for inclusion in ACFE publications

-Answers emails and phone calls from members, media, and the public regarding legal- and fraud-related topics and ACFE publications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
-Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited school of law
-License to practice law in the State of Texas
-CFE designation strongly preferred at hiring or afterward
-Previous legal experience desired, but not required
-CFE designation strongly preferred at hiring or soon afterward
-Writing experience in an educational or professional publishing context preferred
-Thorough understanding of grammar, style, and current English usage
-Proven skills in organizing work, communicating effectively, attending to detail, taking direction, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner
-Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
-Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
